Nqweba Safaris offers guests an experience of a lifetime, where you can experience hunting, photo safari and the thrill of African game viewing.
Nqweba is a small town, formally known as Kirkwood, located in the malaria free Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The town is situated on the banks of the Sundays River on the eponymously named Sundays River Valley.
Addo Elephant Park is just around the corner for your photo safari and game viewing enjoyment.
The Nqweba area is well known for citrus farming and hunting of plains game, boasting over thirty species of animals, giving hunters plenty of excitement and challenge.
This is the base and home of your hunting safari and experience.

The area has thick vegetation comprising of evergreen and deciduous trees, a rich succulent diversity, from towering Euphorbias to creeping vygies, shrubs, vines, bulbs and grasses.

Best Hunting Season in Eastern Cape
Prime hunting season is during the months of March to October.
The summer months of November to February can be very hot. Early summer mornings and late afternoons are cooler and the breeze often brings respite from the heat.
Travelling to South Africa
Nqweba Safaris recommends that hunters visiting South Africa obtain their Rifle Import Permits prior to your departure from your home country. More information and applications can be obtained from the following websites:
Hunting Invitation Letter from outfitter
Nqweba Safaris will issue you with an Invitation Letter to assist you with the importation of your firearms. We will require the following information from you:
- Your full names, as appears on your passport
- Physical Address
- Copy of your Passport
- Firearms details: Type, Serial No. & Calibers
Regulations & Restrictions of a Temporary Import Permit
- Max of 4 firearms, not of the same Caliber
- Frame, barrel and action are marked with the serial number
- Proof of firearm ownership and notarized
- Only 100 rounds per permitted firearm
- Ammunition is packed in a lockable case, separate from the firearms
- There is a limit of 5kg of ammunition per person
- Firearms and ammunition must be declared on arrival at airline
- A completed SAPS 520 Application Form
